Omar El-Moutaz Bellah is an Egyptian academic lecturer, writer, and cultural manager with a specialization in creative communication, heritage, performing arts, and the philosophy of art history and design. He has authored several influential works and scientific research papers in cultural economics, management, and heritage resource development. His contributions include periodic and non-periodic articles in renowned Egyptian and international newspapers and scientific journals.
El-Moutaz Bellah holds Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in the philosophy of art history and design from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, which have significantly enriched his understanding of the world’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Complementing his deep expertise in art history and design, he earned an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management (MSM), Netherlands, in 2011. This MBA program provided him with advanced skills in strategic management, global business practices, and leadership, allowing him to approach cultural heritage from a multidisciplinary perspective, integrating business acumen with artistic and historical knowledge.
Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Political Science and International Affairs from the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt, obtained in 2007. This diploma has further broadened his understanding of global socio-political dynamics, enhancing his ability to critically analyze cultural heritage within the broader context of international relations and political affairs. It has also equipped him with the tools to open dialogues of culture across borders, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration in the preservation and appreciation of cultural heritage worldwide.
As a visiting lecturer at various Egyptian and international universities, El-Moutaz Bellah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his students. He has held several leadership positions in both local and international cultural organizations, including serving as the former Executive Director of the Arab Regional Committee for Arts and Culture at UNESCO U40, and the Secretary-General of the OISTAT Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects, and Technicians. His extensive experience as a creative director in multinational agencies and teaching creative communication in marketing and advertising further enriches his academic profile.
El-Moutaz Bellah also founded and chaired the Osiris Foundation for Art and Culture, where he has successfully developed and implemented innovative and inspiring projects in Egypt and various Arab and European countries.
